Practical Self Defense
People always dream of living in a peaceful and well ordered area. But that is often not possible because there will always be dangerous elements and people who wants to take advantage of the innocent. Danger will always be lurking in any place and anytime that self defense is necessary for everyone. Without self-defense you will be susceptible to different dangerous individuals.
Although it is highly recommended to take up self-defense lessons, you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars just to protect yourself. There are practical ways of protecting yourself from evil elements and you could avoid evil and often deadly confrontation.
Prevention as Priority
The best self defense you could do is to avoid the evil elements. Avoid going through dark alleys or walking alone at night. You might be the strongest guy alive but when you are cornered with more than five people all equipped with deadly weapons, your strength will be for nothing. Avoiding confrontation is always better than seeking them. You are just placing yourself in a very dangerous situation if you assert yourself in dangerous areas in your locality. Also avoid getting attraction too much. Jewelries and other expensive items should never be used in the open or at least worn in people intensive areas.
Using Regular Objects
If, for some unfortunate reasons, you are being confronted by someone, never hesitate to use the things around you. You can use stones, chairs, bottles and anything around you as self defense. You can throw those objects directly to the attacker so that it would give you time to run away or it could scare the evil-doer and run away instead. If you’re thinking of bringing a gun for self-defense, be sure you have the license e to carry that particular gun or else you’ll have trouble with the law instead of being protected by it.
For women, they really don’t need a gun to be protected. They have a lot of objects inside their bag that could be used as a self defense. Lipsticks, perfumes and other types of sprays could be sprayed to the eye and it would cause considerable discomfort.
When being physically confronted, use everything that you have. Kick, punch, hair grabbing and almost anything that you could think of should be used against the enemy. Biting could be a good way to protect yourself but this should only be the last resort because the attacker might have a deadly disease. Instead of gaining, you might get sick after the confrontation. Also shout for help and even curse the attacker for intimidation.
Practice, Practice, Practice
These could be easy when you think about it but when the situation comes; you might not be able to think clearly. That is why it is important to practice for these dangerous situations. Again, formal lessons are not necessary as long as you familiarize yourself to dangerous situations. Practical self defense is all about self-awareness and your ability to be calm in this situation so that you can have wise decisions to protect yourself and ward off evil.
